On Thursday 26th of April 2012, the young delegates took part in a press event alongside Karlheinz Töchterle, the Austrian Minister for Science and Research, Cătălina Chendea, Representative of the Romanian Ministry of Education and Sorin Câmpeanu and Florin Stănică, Rector and Vice Rector of the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest.
Here are some of the questions prepared by the young delegates for this meeting:
Poverty: Could we create an international fund accessible for poor people so that they can go to university?
Corruption: If the governments in the whole world are fighting against corruption, why is it still one of the main problems in education?
Participation: Do you think it is a good idea to give students the right to vote for professors and rectors?
Austrian Federal Minister for Science and Research, Karlheinz Töchterle - supporter of Children’s Universities in Austria - was very impressed by the young people´s questions and advice:
“[The questions] were amazing, they were motivating. I am impressed by the competence and the knowledge of problems of education [and] of educational systems. It was fascinating.”
